What people are saying about LiA...

Ashoka identifies and invests in leading social entrepreneurs  worldwide, and has supported the
LiA vision since 2001

After 10 years of supporting LiA-designed community development initiatives through online network building, Life in Africa is now supporting a growing WE Network of verified local community based organizations and social entrepreneurs in Africa, by helping them to develop stronger, more interactive online networks of their own.

Together, WE Network communities are using Webbed Empowerment strategies to engage the online world as stakeholders in developing grassroots-driven ideas for creative uplift and self-help for vulnerable African children, families and communities.

LiA is currently verifying and evaluating additional community based initiatives and social entrepreneurs in Uganda for inclusion in the WE Network, with the aim of joining hands with at least 10 Ugandan communities pursuing joint WE strategies online by the end of Q1 2009.

Contact us to learn how a project in Uganda that you know and want to support can get started in the verification process.

Life in Africa Foundation (Uganda) verifies and monitors the use of funds contributed by people like you, to projects in Uganda you have found online and would like to support in a smart way. In partnership with our new sister organization, Life in Africa USA, we are developing services to assist our local network of verified social entrepreneurs and community based initiatives in collecting US tax deductible donations, selling their crafts in global markets, and expanding their global networks of friends and well-wishers who can help them plan and find the resources they need to achieve their objectives.
